It is highly unlikely your dog will get sick from killing a rat.  Certain infectious diseases are possible if your dog ingested any pieces of the rat or if a dermal parasite like a flea from the rat infected your dog.  Relay toxicosis is also very, very unlikely.  I suspect your dog will be fine.  If your dog develops any clinical signs seek veterinary medical attention.
