My shih tzsu is 17 he has a heart murmer and enlarged heart. He coughs everyday, I can no longer take him for walks now for the past year. He is very shakey and breaths very hard. We are moving to a new place. Should we put him down?

I agree with the comment above, consult a vet.
But, 17 is so old and he doesnt sound like a happy dog. As in, on his last legs, it might be a better idea to put him down, you dont want him suffering.
So sorry though, must be hard.

Im not to sure about putting him down its just like us when we get old we cant go for big walks or we start couging if you smoke in the house which im not saying you do,it will affect his lungs to.You just got to take him vets and whatever they say is what should happen. Just remember you dog is old things will slow down for him
