Beagles can live 12-15 years on average.  There is not a known difference in life span between males and females.  Certain factors like weight, hormone status (spayed/neutered vs. Intact), and care given throughout life have a greater effect on life span.

Beagles are prone to obesity, thyroid issues, skin problems, allergies, ear problems, and dental disease.  Detecting these problems early can lead to a longer, healthier, happier life.

Yearly examinations with your veterinarian are important.  All dogs are unique and care will be tailored to your individual dog.
