<title>Question: Hi I am a college student who is looking to get a dog possibly for next semester. I will be living in an apartment and am an active person. I have already addressed the time factor of owning a dog. I was wondering if anyone had an idea of what breed will be good to look into? I live in a warm region and love to go running. I would like a dog who can excercise with me and also be a good appartment dog. Thank you!</title>

<title>Question: My dog wears a harness when I walk him. We recently moved to a big city where there are some vicious dogs. When I walk him near these houses he pulls me very strongly. I just noticed he has 2 purplish bruises on his chest. One is flat. The other is a bump that feels spongy to the touch. That one is right under the cross section of the harness where both parts meet. So I am guessing that is where the harness hits him the most. I would like to know what these are and how to cure him?</title>

<title>Question: Recently, I've noticed my dog scratching himself frequently, particularly on the belly, thighs and shoulders, and have noticed him chewing and licking at his legs. I have noticed some little black specks on his fur. The itching and scratching is getting worse and worse and I'm afraid that he may get a skin infection or something more serious. Does my dog have fleas? What sort of treatment should I start with? What other things should I do to handle an infestation?</title>

<title>Question: My rat-terrier/bulldog Mason is about 1 1/2 and quite a while back he got parvo, we took him to the vet and got his treatment and he made it. They say a dog can't get parvo twice, but starting last night he started having diarrhea that smelled like it did when he had parvo. Today I went to town and took him with me, and in the car he was shivering and panting at the same time. Then he threw up a lot of food type stuff, but in it was something sharp and jagged and hard. Could that cause it?</title>

<title>Question: My 1 year old Minature Pinscher is twitching and dipping her back like it's spasming about every minute or so. It's been happening for about 24 hours. It didn't seem to be bothering her yesterday but today she whines a bit when it's happening but then is right back to her normal hyper active sparkly self. I just put some flea killer on her to see if it's fleas causing this but she's not scratching at all so it seems odd that it could be. What else could this be?</title>

<title>Question: My 5 year old american staffordshire has recently been acting quite strangely. He only acts this way at night, usually while we are in bed. He will be laying on the couch downstairs when all of a sudden we hear a yelp (the kind of yelp when you would step on his tail) , then he would continue to yelp louder and louder as he runs up the stairs into our room in a panic. No reaction when I touch him. Hasn't prohibited his mobility. ANY ideas?!</title>

<title>Question: My dog growls, barks and acts afraid of the smell of bee spray. Today my husband came home and the dog was smelling him and barked (very unusaul). I asked my husband if he sprayed bee spray...he said yes. I remember the dog doing that last summer when we sprayed a bee's nest. Then we went to our RV later today and as soon as he got in he ran around and sniffed. When he got to the spot where the bees were sprayed he barked?</title>

<title>Question: Currently we have a 1 year old cat, nutmeg, and a 11 month old puppy. Nutmeg was not very fond of the puppy at first, they would fight and she would spit at him and he would want to play with her. Now as the puppy is getting older they seem to be getting along better, he still chases her but they can now be in the same room without difficulty. My main concern is that adding the kitten will make our existing animals fight more, what do you think?</title>

<title>Question: How can we get our cat to get along with our new dog? Both are females. The cat is not very affectionate and stays by herself upstairs most of the day. We have had dogs before and no problems between them and the cat. We just rescued a 7 month old boxer/lab mix and she is very curious and excited by the cat. This scares the cat and she (the cat) gets very defensive. If the dog tries to get close for a sniff, the cat runs and the dog chases. We're afraid the cat will hurt the dog!</title>

I went to the vet today he gave him some vitamins, solvents, like glucose, and antibiotics in the artery vein. And diagnosed the problem that the dog ate something sharp and it's cutting his stomach. And now I called another vet and he made a different diagnosis that my dog has gastro-enteritis. So I'm not sure who's right and whose wrong?</title>

<title>Question: Yesterday something bit my dog's leg in high grass. I carried him home (he is 3 yrs old; ~23 lbs; mixed breed) and called the vet. I gave him Benadryl since his foot swelled to twice its original size, cleaned the area with hydrogen peroxide and alcohol, put on Neosporin, and bandaged it. There were ~5 large blood blisters. Today, the blisters are gone. I hope they will heal normally. However, today I am concerned because there is a large red rash that has developed on the inside thigh. Help?</title>

<title>Question: My bichon-poodle mix is ~10yrs old. She's eating, peeing and pooping fine. This am during our walk she almost completed a mile. She started walking very lightly around her back left paw. I checked it for a thorn, stone, etc...nothings there. She's playful &amp; still walks on all four. She's not yelping/crying. She wasn't injured. It seems like her leg is sore. 1 friend told me to give her aspirin/advil. Another friend told me not to &amp; to start her on glucosamine chondroitin. Help?</title>

Iwould love to take my 2 yr old Boxer with me, but I am worried about how such a move can affect her mental/emotional state (ie. <title>Question: My dog has around 6-7 bumps on his leg that actually look like extra skin. When I spray peroxide on it, it doesn't foam up. When I squeeze it or try to pop it, blood comes out and it looks like there's a hole in the middle. Do you know what it is or what I should do?</title>

<title>Question: Last night my dg had a tick on him. I tried the &quot;touch it with something hot&quot; method, but all it did was burn the tick. He never &quot;backed out&quot; as I was told he would. This morning I woke up and was going to take him to the vet for removal but now all that I see is red spots where the tick was.. But no tick.
