My male cat was put on Hills Prescription Diet w/d by my vet after a bladder infection. Now that he's off meds and well is there something similar i could buy at a normal store? I have more than one cat and separating them for meals has been difficult, im looking for something less expensive that could be eaten by all?

We have a female boarder collie mix since she was 6 wks old. She is now approx 9 yrs. Recently as we are away to work she will get up on our new sofa. How we know is we cover it with a blanket and see if it is messed up when we get home. We tried coffee tables in front of it. When we get home she gives us that inocent look. Now I'm in the dog house with the wife. What can I try next. I do not disipline them unless I actually see them and they are doing it. So they know what they did wrong?

Is canine distemper spreadable through other dogs or cross contaminatable? If so, what kinds of precautions do we need to take to prevent spreading the disease? Also, there is a study under progress about treating distemper with Vitamin A and ribavirin. What is your opinion about it and would it be safe to use it to try to treat him? Thanks
