I have a 15yr old pug. We have tile flooring throughout the house and up until this year it was never a problem but now she seems to slip as she walks. Is this age related and is there something I can do to her pads to help her get a better grip? I feel bad for her because if she takes off too fast she falls on her face.

When I take my dogs to the river one of them get blisters on the pads of her paws. I tried to get booties to protect her paws on the walk to the river but they won't stay in place. Is there something else I could try?

My 2 year old cat's top pad on his front arms turned black and are crusty and sore. What would cause this as he doesn't "walk" on these pads, but are still painful? Can I do something at home for him or does he need to go to the vet?
